Episode highlights

“Unfortunately for me, I didn't have anyone at school who supported me to figure out what was wrong and find a way to make it work. Instead I just ended up not being involved in activity for years at school even though I had a great passion for it and loved it previously.” - Elle Linton - 6:47-7:15

“From the minute I started working at LuLuLemon, I was focused on my short-term, medium-term and long-term goals. Those were always kept front of mind during our work, even though to everyone else it would look like we were just on a shop floor selling stretchy pants.” - Elle Linton - 11:54-12:10

“You can't measure your progress if you don't even know where you want to go or where you started from.” - Elle Linton - 13:25-13:30

“The first thing I think I learned about the word ‘No’ is that when you ask for something, if someone says ‘No’ that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's learning to not give that a meaning that isn't even there. As humans, we think all these crazy negative thoughts, even though all they said is ‘No’. Just ask and don't be afraid of a ‘No’ - it just means ‘No, not right now’.” - Elle Linton - 17:25-17:59

“I get my motivation from external sources. So knowing that I have to turn up to an event with my team and - I say ‘perform’, that's a strong word - but ride, it's that motivator that I need” - Elle Linton - 24:18-24:35

“I think my M.O. in the past has been to just rock up and do the work. But on the other hand, there have been many times that I have worked really hard and committed to training. I now know the difference between what it feels like to do an event when you've trained really well vs what it feels like to do an event when you haven't, and there is no shadow of a doubt that I would wholeheartedly choose to train really well because it makes it so much less painful.” - Elle Linton 27:15-27:50

“One thing about change is: the worst that can happen is that it doesn't work out and you go back to what you had before, but you'll never know if you never try. So just go for it. See what works, see what doesn't.” - Elle Linton - 37:27-37:40
