What Is Acne And How Does It Affect Your Skin?

Living with acne, whatever the type or stage you are in, can be a very distressing experience, affecting your confidence and how you present yourself to the world. You may wake up every morning and have to deal with really sore skin that is tricky to manage. Many people feel restricted by their acne prone skin, after endless products claiming to clear acne, you feel hopeless and may stop looking for a solution. Don’t give up! There is a truly effective and natural treatment available to  help combat signs of acne and reduce scaring so you can get back to feeling confident.

People often associate acne with teenage skin, but the truth is that acne can appear at any time in life. There are close links with your hormones, with fluctuating hormone levels a common cause of acne. There are other contributing factors that can play havoc on our skin so it is important to think about what you put in your body as a life-giving force for all your vital organs – including your skin. You may be suffering from painful spots, red and swollen areas, rashes, lumps and bumps that are causing you distress. There is a natural, wholesome approach that can help promote healthy skin by supplying all the vitamins and minerals your body needs to restore good health and glowing skin.

A diet full of processed foods, such as white bread, biscuits, bacon, ham and other processed foods, can have a real impact on your digestive system and on your skin. The chemicals involved in processed foods act as toxins to dehydrate and damage your skin cells, to prematurely dry out and age your skin. Processed substances such as sodium, sulphites and nitrites from these types of food will induce inflammation that damages collagen-producing skin cells. Once these cells are irritated, they cannot properly produce collagen or sebum and this is when breakouts, flare ups or acne can occur.

There are different types of acne that you might be experiencing. Some may include:

  • Blackheads
  • Whiteheads
  • Cysts
  • Papules
  • Nodules
  • Pustules.

Some of these may be inflammatory acne where the spots are red and swollen. Bacteria may play a role in these types of acne, so making sure the skin is clean is a really important point to take on board. Using non-abrasive and natural products to treat the skin will be kinder and gentler for skin health long term. Nourishing your whole body with nutrient-dense supplements will have a dramatic and transforming effect on your acne. The Simone Thomas Wellness supplements have been specifically formulated to care deeply for your skin and to heal your condition from the inside out.
